Thank you for visiting the Flat Circle. I started this blog in April of 2017 because I wanted to share pop-culture experiences: blockbuster movies, entertainment guides, TV shows, and emerging indie bands. I live outside of Philadelphia and blog on local events like concerts and festivals too.
I hope you enjoy reading the Flat Circle. Recurring posts include Music Monday and Smart TV, a weekly series on TV news and recommendations. You can follow by subscribing to the e-mail option located at the bottom of the page or on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
If you have any questions about working with The Flat Circle or about any of the blog’s content, feel free to reach out via e-mail (email@example.com).

The Flat Circle Abroad
My interview with the amazing ladies of Words Between Coasts. In the Q&A I detail how I became interested in music and name my favorite films and television shows.
A collaboration with blogger Andy Shaw of Instafather on our favorite sitcom Dads. In the piece we name Dads ranging from Tim Taylor to Andre Johnson.
My guest post on The Recovering Perfectionist, which details how I use music for relaxation and the bands that I listen to achieve that state of mind.
The blog’s circuitous name was inspired by the first season of True Detective.
This is my second blog. I blogged about music on my old site, Long After Dark, from 2011 to 2013.
I also write about pop-culture from outside the Philadelphia area. Since I resumed blogging, I have watched more movies in theaters than I have since I was in middle school, resulting in things like my 2018 Oscar hunt. You can expect another movie binge ahead of the 2019 Oscars.
I live in Narberth with my wife Janet.
I am 32 years old. I have lived in the Philadelphia area since 1991.
My sister and I have the same birthday, six years apart.
Before spending time with two different private investigation companies, I worked for a record store (Main Street Music in Manayunk) and book store (RIP, Borders Books and Music). I am currently a freelance writer.
I graduated from Saint Joseph’s University in 2008. I still hang around and do video work for the school during basketball season.
Favorite Movies: The Dark Knight, The Natural, The Prestige, and Creed
